The fact that the two social networks crashed this Tuesday evening is a major concern for the continent’s premier event.

For several hours, the two main social networks have not been working. Instagram and Facebook, two entities belonging to the Meta company, are down and it is believed to be due to a major technical problem (and not to any hacking).

No information has yet been communicated regarding when there will be a return to normal. It’s a total blur and it’s starting to worry many big companies.

UEFA penalized by Facebook and Instagram crash

For example, UEFA is embarrassed by the fact that this problem occurs during a Champions League evening. And for good reason ; several of its sponsors take advantage of this window to increase the number of publications promoting them. This is particularly the case for the FedEx group.

Mathys Tel, Bayern’s French striker, also shot a clip which was to be broadcast on both Instagram and Facebook a few hours before the Bavarians’ match against Lazio. But the network crash thwarted these plans.

Needless to say, this unforeseen event is causing the European authorities to lose a lot of money. She now hopes that the chaos does not continue over time. And may the second evening of the 8th return of the Champions League be spared from these damaging bugs.
