Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies over the terms of his contract.
Los Blancos have been heavily linked with the Canadian in recent months, and things appear to be moving in the direction of a transfer this summer. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are yet to begin negotiations for the 23-year-old , but this puts Real Madrid in a strong position before possible negotiations.
Either Bayern will agree to sell Davies this summer for a sum of money, or they will lose him next summer. The Athletic reports that Barcelona and Premier League clubs have expressed interest, but Davies’ preference is Real Madrid.
Ferland Mendy in danger?
The Whites have reportedly accelerated negotiations with Davies’ camp following an in-person meeting in mid-February. Bayern have agreed to try and sell Davies this summer if he cannot sign a new lease – his contract ends in less than 18 months, hence the pressure on him to act.
Earlier on Monday, it was reported in Germany that Bayern were losing hope of a new contract after their latest meeting with Davies’ agent. The Munich club would seek to obtain 50 million euros for him, while Real Madrid would like to start negotiations around 35 million euros. Either way, everything suggests that Real will have their left back for a good part of the next decade if all goes as planned, which will also highlight the futures of Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
