In the ranks of PSG, the hypothesis of a departure of Brazilian international Marquinhos next summer has gained weight.
If the future of Kylian Mbappé has focused all attention in recent months, another historic executive from Paris Saint-Germain could be the subject of a soap opera in the weeks to come. The hypothesis of Marquinhos leaving would not be excluded.
Several German media are reporting strong interest from Bayern Munich in the Brazilian central defender. In Spain, the daily Sport confirms these speculations while specifying that Marquinhos would be Bayern’s number 2 choice behind FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
Can Marquinhos really leave PSG next summer?
As things currently stand, a transfer for Marquinhos remains difficult to imagine given the Brazilian’s historic weight in the locker room. A respected captain, the Auriverde international is an iconic player for the capital club. His seniority, his professionalism, but also his technical profile (quality of recovery, speed) remain essential for Luis Enrique.
However, the Brazilian’s performances have not been unanimously unanimous for two seasons, just like his leadership, often called into question by PSG followers. Last summer, the departure of Marco Verratti, another emblematic player of the QSI era, demonstrated that no one was untouchable in the Parisian squad. As a reminder, Marquinhos has been playing in Paris for more than ten years. He arrived in France from AS Roma in the summer of 2013.
