However, the Brazilian did not agree with the sanction, protesting to the match referee. The former Real Madrid player, used to this type of situation, seemed to ask for a card for the Villa full-back for simulation. But the scene left room for imagination on social networks.
Indeed, some fans noticed that Casemiro asked for a blue card, this new rule which will come into force soon. “Casemiro begs for a blue card”commented a fan, as relayed by the tabloid The Sun. Another joked about the defensive midfielder’s reputation. “If they do this blue card thing, Casemiro will be off the field for 89 minutes of the match.”
