Jérôme Rothen does not like the way Pablo Longoria treats Jonathan Clauss and he made it known in his last show.
The Clauss case continues to be talked about in Marseille. Pablo Longoria may have eased tensions during his previous media outing, but there is still unease surrounding the former Lensois.
The Marseille management did not hesitate to bring the matter to the public, suggesting that Clauss was not sufficiently invested and that he was thinking a little too much about the Euro. The Olympian president also indicated that the player would have lied about the offers he received during the transfer window. Statements which caused a lot of talk and which especially annoyed a certain Jérôme Rothen.
Rothen denounces relentlessness
“Longoria goes too far, it’s relentless. The episode passed, he said what he had to tell us. This had the effect of waking up the player or not. And there he puts a small part back into the machine. This is not his job “, declared the former Parisian.
If he overwhelms the strong man of OM, Rothen on the other hand defends Gennaro Gattuso. “I’m not with Clauss on a daily basis, but when your coach talks like that it’s because he’s not doing enough and he expects exemplary behavior due to his status. This OM team is sorely lacking in good players. He is one of them. But behind that, you have to have good behavior. And if Gattuso is shocked, then I understand his sidelining.”
