Florian Maurice could leave his role as sporting director of Rennes to join a major foreign club.

Remaining in Rennes despite the departure of Bruno Genésio, Florian Maurice could ultimately not finish the season in Ille-et-Vilaine. The former French international would be announced by a major club in the Italian championship.

All roads lead to Rome for Mauritius

The current sporting director of the Rouge et Noir is the favorite to replace Tiago Pinto, who holds the same position at Roma and whose departure is scheduled for February 3.

The Portuguese’s mandate will therefore end in a few days and contacts are therefore intensifying with potential replacements. According to Corriere dello Sport, Maurice is therefore very well placed to take over this position.

Maurice has never worked abroad before. On the other hand, he has already experienced the pressure inherent in a club aiming for the heights. This was the case with OL under the mandate of Jean-Michel Aulas. His skills are recognized by all. And Roma’s interest is proof that he is also appreciated outside French borders.
