Bayern Munich cuts short rumors that send Thomas Tuchel to FC Barcelona.
Thomas Tuchel’s latest statements have caused a lot of ink to flow. In comments relayed by Sky Sport, the Bayern Munich coach said he would “no doubt be tempted” to return abroad and that Spain was an “exceptional” league.
These statements were interpreted as a possible indication that the German technician could succeed Xavi on the bench of FC Barcelona, who announced his departure at the end of the season. However, the German champion denied these rumors, saying that Tuchel never mentioned the case of Xavi or his replacement.
Bayern responds cash
“We will no longer accept such unsupported statements that are directly aimed at our coach and always come from the same source. He (Thomas Tuchel, editor’s note) never spoke about Xavi and his successor, contrary to what was subsequently stated,” we can read in a press release published by the Bavarian club.
The situation is therefore confused. Does the former Paris Saint-Germain coach want to leave Bayern? Is he interested in the position of manager of Barça? Only time will tell.
