Once again, Erling Haaland remained silent in front of the opposing goal, this Saturday afternoon, during the draw (1-1) between Manchester City and Everton. The Norwegian striker, however, had a golden opportunity to end his drought.

Indeed, at the start of the second half, the “cyborg” had the opportunity to score from the penalty spot, due to a delayed tackle by James Tarkowski on Savinho. Except that Jordan Pickford diverted his attempt. In the process, the former Borussia Dortmund player believed he had finally found the net with his header. Unfortunately for him, he was in an offside position.

Pep Guardiola, however, retains all his confidence in his star striker. “When you have problems at the back, in the middle, it’s for everyone, it’s a team, it’s not just one player’s business. It would be too easy if there was only one player responsible. Erling is very important to us, he will be very important to us, he always has been. (We have to) try to do things better, use it better”explained the Spanish technician at a press conference before the match against Everton.

Since December 7 and a draw (2-2) at Crystal Palace, Erling Haaland has not scored a single goal. Perhaps he will manage to ward off fate on Sunday, on the Leicester pitch, during the 19th day of the Premier League?
