Bad news at Barça

Already weighed down by numerous absences, FC Barcelona will now have to do without Sergi Roberto.

Third in the standings, FC Barcelona welcomes Villarreal this Saturday (6:30 p.m.), for the twenty-second day of La Liga. Although they have not lost in the league since December 10, Xavi’s men, on the other hand, still show a very reassuring face. Eliminated this week by Athletic Bilbao, in overtime of a Copa del Rey quarter-final, the Blaugrana must pull themselves together. But the troops are diminished.

No less than seven Barcelona players are now in the infirmary. The latest one is called Sergi Roberto. Like the ad Mundo Deportivo this Saturday, the Barça captain suffered an Achilles tendon injury. The media specifies that the injury is not serious, but that it will still require the player to rest for the next two weeks.

Apart from the Spanish international, FC Barcelona will also have to do without Ter Stegen, Gavi, Marcos Alonso, Inigo Martinez, Raphinha and even Balde. It remains for Xavi to find a solution for the match against a Villarreal team threatened by the relegation zone and who could sell their skin dearly.
