Times are tough in Barcelona. There is no point going back to all the problems that the Catalan team is going through, which nevertheless won the title of champion of Spain only a few months ago. At the heart of the criticism, we inevitably find Xavi, and even among his players, there are few who maintain a good popularity rating with fans and the media at the moment. Jules Koundé, often lugged between central defense and the right flank, is clearly not one of them.

The Frenchman is going through a difficult time, and it is not going unnoticed. As the daily indicates Sport, internally there are a lot of doubts and questions about his recent level of play. Errors, lapses in concentration, and a level well above that to which he is accustomed, like his poor performance against Athletic in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening. A poor form which was also reported by his teammates. In the locker room, we feel Koundé a little more extinct and less jovial than usual, he who lost friends like Dembélé and Kessié last summer. Clearly, if Jules Koundé wants to stay with FC Barcelona for the long term, he will have to increase his level of performance in this second part of the season…
