Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus doesn’t like the Bavarians’ new recruitment policy at all.
Former German football great Lothar Matthäus is surprised by Bayern’s new propensity to shop in the Premier League. He also deplores the fact that we let the French international, Benjamin Pavard, leave.
“Bayern should not recruit second knives”
The 1990 Ballon d’Or criticized the loan of Tottenham defender Eric Dier and the attempted acquisition of Newcastle full-back Kieran Trippier. “Bayern needs more depth and reinforcements, but are these players reinforcements? The former playmaker then concluded by emphasizing that Bayern made a huge difference by letting Benjamin Pavard slip away during the preceding transfer window. “Bayern Munich has very good young players and Christoph Freund (Bayern sporting director) is responsible for them. He has a good network. During the summer it was said: “We can let (Benjamin) Pavard and (Josip) Stanisic go and take someone else instead”, and they didn’t take anyone else .
