At the end of the 21st day of the Premier League, Brighton hosted Wolverhampton. A meeting between two teams aspiring to European places but stuck in the soft underbelly of the championship across the Channel. In the first half, the Seagulls largely had control of possession and were too incisive against the opposing goal to open the scoring.

However, upon returning from the locker room, the situation changed. The locals, still dominating with the leather, nevertheless conceded several dangerous chances. Ultimately, the two teams conceded a goalless draw which did not change much in the standings. While the club from the south of England overtakes Manchester United and is in seventh place, Wolves stagnate in 11th place.
