Brighton has just recruited defender Valentin Barco, a young Argentinian talent who played for Boca Juniors.
It seems that Brighton & Hove Albion has a knack for attracting South American gems. Valentin Barco, 19, has signed with the Premier League club for a period of four and a half years, the Seagulls said on Saturday.
This versatile Argentinian left-back (1.70m), with a profile resembling that of his compatriot Nicolas Tagliafico (OL), played until then at Boca Juniors. With the Buenos Aires club, he distinguished himself in particular during the course in the Copa Libertadores 2023 completed in the final, on November 4 against the Brazilians of Fluminense (1-2).
Caicedo, what a deal!
Brighton had unearthed the Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo (22 years old), who left for Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for 116 million euros (purchased for 4.5 million), while the Paraguayan Julio Enciso and the Argentinian Facundo Buonanotte, both aged aged 19, have already played under the orders of Roberto De Zerbi, recalls France 24.
