After a successful 6-month loan to Lorient last season, Romain Faivre decided to move to Bournemouth in the Premier League. The English club, which has the same owner as Lorient, chose to loan its player to Merlus for this 2023/2024 financial year to continue its progress. The opportunity for the former Lyon player to continue before establishing himself in the Premier League. But this season, nothing is going well for Lorient, which is in 17th place in the Ligue 1 standings.

For his part, Romain Faivre still manages to shine since he has already scored 5 goals and delivered 1 assist in the first half of the season (he was involved in 11 of his team’s 21 goals). In this sense, according to our information, Bournemouth is tempted to break his loan this winter to recover it and thus strengthen its midfield. An idea which is not without displeasing the player who is not open to a departure during this transfer window, far from it. Especially since there is confusion internally on the Lorient side, particularly with the situation of coach Régis Le Bris. A doubt even remains as to the presence of the 25-year-old midfielder in the Lorient group which will travel to Sochaux for the 32nd round of the Coupe de France.
