The 33-year-old left back had to undergo surgery in Bordeaux to treat lower back pain, as the Catalan club announced on its social networks. The duration of his absence, for its part, was not specified.

The La Roja international (9 caps) only played 7 small matches in all competitions (including 4 as a starter), often being a substitute behind Alejandro Balde or João Cancelo.
