Real Madrid: the special clause of Carlo Ancelotti’s new contract

Last summer, Carlo Ancelotti’s future seemed sealed away from Real Madrid. Inclined to join the Brazilian selection which went out of its way to bring him here, the Italian technician was then heading towards one last dance with the White House. Finally, several months later, the situation changed completely. Indeed, the former PSG tactician signed a new lease which now binds him to the Merengues until 2026 this Friday.

Considered the past, present and future of the Madrid club in the eyes of Florentino Pérez, the 64-year-old coach therefore seems committed to remaining a little longer at the bedside of the club in the Iberian capital. However, The Athletic revealed to us this Friday that Ancelotti has a clause in his contract which would allow him to have a role other than coach if he or the club so desires. Like Santiago Solari in the past, Ancelotti could therefore remain in a hybrid position in the future, even if he has been retained to remain on the Real Madrid bench for the moment.
