He has been one of the executives of RB Leipzig since 2015, but he will fly to the United States to live the American dream. Emil Forsberg is indeed preparing to leave Germany. At the end of his contract in 2025, the Swede has decided to take charge of the New York Red Bulls, starting this winter. At 32 years old, the playmaker has totaled 71 goals in 325 games with the RBL. Considered a legend, the German club decided to pay tribute to him.

As in basketball and more particularly in the NBA, the number 10 – which Emil Forsberg proudly wore – will be retired by RB Leipzig according to BILD. The latter, who has already found the Swede’s replacement in the person of Eljif Elmas, does not want another player to wear the jersey of the future master of the New York Red Bulls. A hell of a tribute that is not usually done in football. To be seen if the RBL intends to award it in the future, but this measure will apply from January 2024.
