The end of 2023 is fast approaching and it’s time for Les Bleus fans to vote for the best goal of the year scored for the France team. Olivier Giroud is a very serious candidate, with Kylian Mbappé.

For the French team, 2023 will have been synonymous with qualifications for Euro 2024. Eight matches spread throughout the calendar year, to which must be added two friendly matches. So many opportunities for French players to shine in their field, sometimes with a welcome excess of function. This was particularly the case in terms of attack and scoring goals. And as we move to 2024, the time has come for supporters of the French team to vote for the best goal of the year. Five players are in the running, among whom Olivier and Kylian Mbappé seem well placed.

To begin with, there is this goal scored by Benjamin Pavard against Ireland on March 27. A missile fired full axis, which hit the bottom of the opposing crossbar before ending up in the back of the net. Still against the Irish, but this time on September 7, it was the turn of Aurélien Tchouaméni to illustrate it with a cross shot fired from outside the area and leaving no chance for the opposing goalkeeper. Third to compete, the inevitable Kylian Mbappé with a precise lob during the card inflicted on Gibraltar on November 18 (14-0).

Bicycle versus lob

Fourth in this competition, Olivier Giroud with a bicycle with impeccable timing, still during the crushing victory of the Blues against Gibraltar. Finally, Youssouf Fofana and his cannon shot against Greece, during the draw conceded by France on November 21 (2-2), is not to be taken lightly. However, and according to the first votes and comments visible online on the social networks of the French team, it is Olivier Giroud who seems to be on the best footing, closely followed by Kylian Mbappé, while Youssouf Fofana and Aurélien Tchouaméni will not be neglected. Benjamin Pavard seems a little more withdrawn. It’s up to everyone to make up their own mind.
