Andy Delort could have the privilege of participating in his second CAN, next month in Ivory Coast.

Member of the victorious Algerian selection of CAN 2019, Andy Delort could be part of the 2023 edition which is looming in Ivory Coast. The former Nantes and Nice player is part of the pre-summoned list for this tournament.

A meager hope for Delort

Like every coach, Djamel Belmadi had to communicate a list of 50 preselected for this continental event. Although he has not been called up since last March, Delort is indeed part of this group. He fills the offensive sector, like other veterans like Yacine Brahimi and Amine Sayoud.

Delort has been playing since last summer in Qatar, near Umm-Salal. His statistics in this championship are not ridiculous. It therefore displays an interesting shape. However, there is still little chance that he will be included in the final list of 27 summoned.

Delort is not really popular with the other ones in the Mediterranean. Neither with the supporters nor with his (former) teammates. In addition, he is not on very good terms with Djamel Belmadi. Furthermore, his figures with the Greens are poor. All this makes his presence at the CAN hypothetical.
