The president of Corinthians has confirmed the probable departure to Paris Saint-Germain of Gabriel Moscardo, the 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder.
This is undoubtedly the next recruit of Paris Saint-Germain. Announced in the sights of the capital club, Gabriel Moscardo should join Ligue 1 this winter. Corinthians president Augusto Melo has confirmed the 18-year-old defensive midfielder’s imminent departure.
“He is a recently trained boy with very little professional playing time. I wish he would stay much longer”explained the manager of the Sao Paulo club to ESPN. “But unfortunately, a cycle has happened, his head is already elsewhere. We gave him complete freedom to choose. May he be happy. He is heading towards that (a sale to PSG, editor’s note),” added Augusto Melo.
Moscardo is 25 million euros
According to ESPN, the transfer amount could reach 25 million euros, including 3 million euros in bonuses. There would only be a few details left to settle before the transfer is finalized, adds the Brazilian media. Gabriel Moscardo is a midfielder with a defensive profile, sometimes compared to Casemiro. It should therefore strengthen the PSG midfield, and provide a rotation solution to Manuel Ugarte, the current holder of the position.
