For his second experience abroad, after his time at AS Roma, Luis Enrique took the reins of Paris Saint-Germain. And at mid-season, the Spanish coach will end the year 2023 at the top of the Ligue 1 standings and with qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League in his pocket. But everything was not rosy for the former Barça player, in particular because of certain contested tactical choices. But Luis Enrique doesn’t care.

“It was a real thought. That over the months, we continue to progress, to improve the important aspects of the game. I am convinced of that. If I’m wrong, I’ll be criticized, but I don’t care. I’ve been criticized all my life so I’m used to it, I live with criticism. That’s my role as a coach. I see that my team is improving game after game. There is one game left to conclude this year. I want to give the supporters a victory. (…) The bottom line is that we are still at the beginning of our journey as staff. At the start of a new stage for the club, given the high number of players we recruited this summer. I am more than satisfied with this start to the season, satisfied with the results. Having such a tough Champions League group was an advantage for us. In the championship, we have good results even if at the start, it was not as good. We’re first, but it’s still the beginning. The hardest part remains to be done”he confided at a press conference.
