He is one of the men in form on the Madrid side at the moment. However, at the start of the season, Brahim Diaz had to be satisfied with the crumbs. The player who passed through Manchester City and Milan was thus in the very last levels of Carlo Ancelotti’s hierarchy, and was, possibly, used from time to time at the end of matches that had already been completed. But at the beginning of November, the Italian coach gave him a great opportunity to shine, during this home match against Braga (3-0). And the 24-year-old shone.

Carlo Ancelotti took note, and since then, Brahim Diaz has seen his playing time explode. for example, he started in Real Madrid’s last three La Liga matches, being particularly successful there too. Sunday evening against Villarreal, the 24-year-old scored points again, producing a very good performance punctuated by a nice goal, he who had already scored against Granada at the start of the month. Enough to ignite the Madrid press, and relaunch several debates…

Spain or Morocco?

The first: should he be an indisputable holder over time? Named man of the match by Marcawhere it received the maximum rating of 3 stars, it delighted everyone. “He came to stay”explains the media, while the newspaper A.S. gives it a nice 9/10, the best score of the match as well. “He once again showed that the starting suit is not too big for him”, indicates the media. Clearly, Brahim Diaz has submitted a very serious candidacy for the starting position, he who has demonstrated the extent of his technical quality, his creativity and his ability to make differences.

But it’s not just in Madrid that we’re rubbing our hands. For months, even years already, he has been at the heart of a small war between Morocco and Spain, the two selections for which he can play. “Luis de la Fuente must make him a place in the 23 for the Euro”we read in an opinion article on Marca. Currently in the best form of his career, Diaz is therefore a very serious candidate for the next La Roja lists. But Morocco also has arguments to put forward…
