Navas, discomfort at PSG

Having become number three at PSG thanks to his injuries and phases of poor form, Keylor Navas does not hide his spleen.

While Gianluigi Donnarumma is still struggling to be 100% reassuring in the Parisian cage – freshly threatened by the Spanish rookie Arnau Tenas moreover – he is a third goalkeeper at PSG who perhaps deserves to have his chance this season, but who has precisely had bad luck since the opening of this 2023-2024 financial year.

Victim of a lower back injury almost three months ago, Keylor Navas – loaned for six months to Nottingham Forest last season – cannot claim to be part of a possible rotation in the eyes of Luis Enrique for the moment. With barely 70 minutes of appearance with gloves in hand during the off-season, the Costa Rican has lost his place so much that he is no longer even mentioned in the capital club’s medical press releases.

A future in Saudi Arabia?

In a live broadcast on social networks relayed by AS, the person concerned does not hide his discomfort. “ It’s difficult, I can’t complain because as a footballer I’m privileged. But at the athlete level, it’s difficult, we try to do the best possible, to make the effort and to work. Not playing is frustrating for every player. (…) We put everything in God’s hands, we will fight, make the effort and try to win a place as always. »

A departure this winter for Keylor Navas cannot be ruled out. At the end of his contract next June, the former Merengue joined PSG from Madrid in 2019, for 108 matches played so far – the last dating back to January 2023 and a start in the Coupe de France. His future could be written in Saudi Arabia, where several well-endowed teams are eyeing him.
