It’s a scene that caused a lot of talk this Wednesday in the Champions League. Hooked by Borussia Dortmund (1-1), the Parisians did not want to push to try to snatch victory and therefore finish in the lead. Luis Enrique’s men, on instructions from the Spanish technician who knew that his team was qualified, had calmed the game and delayed at the end of the match. And this did not please Kylian Mbappé at all, who had complained several times to his teammates.

Asked this Saturday about this surprising choice for a team like PSG, Luis Enrique clearly accepted his decision. “Yes I admit, it was one of the best decisions of my career. There was absolutely no need to concede a goal. I understand but it’s my decision and that of my staff. I understand that players are exposed to these emotions. The goal was to win but it would have been ridiculous to concede a goal in the last minutes. It’s a moment of maximum tension and it was the right decision”he confided.
