Currently in good form, RB Leipzig (4th) hosted Hoffenheim (6th) for a top-of-the-table shock. The Saxons confirmed their rank during this match and Lukas Klostermann broke the deadlock (1-0, 34th). But Hoffenheim had not said its last word and Ozan Kabak equalized before the break (1-1, 42nd). Returning from the locker room, RB Leipzig stepped up the pace.

Emil Forsberg, well served by Loïs Openda, managed to restore the advantage to his team (2-1, 71st) before Mohamed Simakan widened the gap in stride (3-1, 74th). In the final moments, the locals even almost scored a fourth goal but Hoffenheim ultimately lost 3-1. Great operation for RB Leipzig which overtakes Stuttgart, climbs onto the podium and comes back level with Bayern Munich as well as four points behind the leader, Bayer Leverkusen.
