What a shocker in the Euro 2024 qualifiers! Norway, sitting in third place in their group behind Spain and Scotland, already knew they couldn’t qualify directly for the competition. However, Erling Haaland and his teammates held out hope of making it to the playoffs. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case.
This Saturday night, Romania managed to turn things around to defeat Israel. Along with Switzerland, the Romanians will be heading to the Euros, while Israel will have to settle for the playoffs. As a result, there’s no opportunity for Norway to snatch a vacant spot. Regardless, the Norwegian Lions will have to wait until at least the 2026 World Cup to hope for a chance to compete in a major tournament with their golden generation.
