Luis Enrique is certain that his PSG team will overcome Dortmund on Wednesday evening in the Champions League.

PSG plays its European future on Wednesday evening. Traveling to Dortmund, the capital team must win to hope to continue their journey in the event. A defeat would eliminate it and a draw will put it at the mercy of the two other opponents in the group. In short, the stakes are high.

“We can and we will win”

Logically, the pressure is enormous on the shoulders of Parisians. However, they have no doubts. Luis Enrique, the coach, says he does not even imagine for a second that his team will fail in its mission. “I focus on the positive all the time. And the positive is that the outcome of this very difficult group depends on us to qualify and finish first. If we take things negatively, we will find problems. We can win this match tomorrow and we will win this match,” he proclaimed.

The Spanish coach added that he preferred to play this type of game than those where the importance is less. “These are the easiest matches to manage because it is not difficult to motivate the players. They all want to play this kind of matches, to play and show their level and sometimes you have to control this passion which can be excessive in big matches. We know all the issues of this match and we will work on it with the experience of playing big matches like this. »

Luis Enrique faithful to his principles

Paris is not used to finding itself on the edge during the final days of the C1 group stage. Enrique therefore failed where his predecessors succeeded. The former La Roja coach recalls that his task was more complicated. “The logic in the group of death is that the differences were tiny in each match. We could have won every match or we could have lost every match. Dortmund are qualified but not assured of their place and we can also do that. It depends on us. We had problems, especially away from home, but we are not going to change our way of playing and our desire to win. We will face a good Dortmund team and that will be difficult. »

Enrique therefore appears confident. However, at Signal Iduna Park, he will not have all his strength at his disposal. He will notably be deprived of Ousmane Dembélé. A defection which is far from trivial. He’s not worried about it though: “Responsibility in a team is always distributed and not on the shoulders of one or two players. We must take collective responsibilities. At Paris Saint-Germain, it’s a pleasure to have so many options because I have a very high quality squad, it’s always easier to find a solution to replace a player. I’m not going to complain about having to replace a player. »
