Mauricio Pochettino sent a message to his board following the setback suffered against Everton in the championship.

Chelsea have just completed a disastrous week in the league. After being beaten by Manchester United, the London team was dominated by Everton away (0-2). This is his 7e downside of the exercise. A misstep which prompted Mauricio Pochettino, his trainer, to raise his voice.

Pochettino puts pressure on Boehly

“It was a game to play and win. This is a problem that we must resolve. We must analyze reality. We need to talk and try to improve during the next transfer window,” declared the Argentinian on the BBC microphone just after the final whistle.

This clearly sounds like a request sent to Todd Boehly, the owner, for the month of January. The ex-PSG coach is waiting for reinforcements during this period in order to try to save what can still be saved in this season which looks like two drops of water from the previous one.

Pochettino also criticized his players for their lack of efficiency at the front. “Football is about scoring goals and we weren’t effective in front of goal. I am really very disappointed. We didn’t get the point we deserved. I think we were better (than Everton), but we didn’t get what we wanted.”

Chelsea’s next meeting will be Saturday against Sheffield United, bottom of the standings. What is there to hope for? Knowing the unpredictable side of this team, this is not at all a certainty.
