Who is the Boss ? It’s him. At 34, Mats Hummels has once again become Borussia Dortmund’s defensive anchor this season. After recent mixed seasons, the German has regained momentum and reestablished himself among the best players in his position in the Bundesliga. At the end of his contract in the summer of 2024, the man who played 12 championship matches could indeed return to BVB, to the great pleasure of his coach, Edin Terzic.
“Mats knew how to question himself to become essential again. It is currently impressive. It’s been years since he’s been this convincing. It allows our team to be better balanced and to manage dangerous situations more calmly. Personally, I hope he stays at Borussia for a few more years.”, says the Croatian coach.
