Bundesliga: Eintracht Frankfurt humiliates Bayern Munich, finally a victory for the Union!

Bayern Munich certainly did not expect to experience a nightmare afternoon on the field of Eintracht Frankfurt. Thomas Tuchel had however fielded an almost typical team, where only Choupo-Moting made his entry into the starting eleven but in pouring rain, the Bavarians were swept away by a team impressive in commitment, aggression and will. Marmoush (12th), Dina Ebimba (31st) and Larsson quickly gave themselves a three-goal lead by wandering through a defense with absent subscribers. However, Bayern was not yet dead.

Kimmich restarted his team before the break (44th) and the changes made at the break (entries of Laimer and Guerreiro in place of Mazraoui and Davies) gave another impetus. The chances still had to be quickly realized, which Choupo-Moting (47th) and Coman (48th) failed to do. They were badly offended since in the process, Dina Ebimbe went for her double (50th), to better indicate the road to success to her partners. Definitely on a bad evening, Choupo-Moting missed the opportunity to bring his team back into the match one last time (55th).

Bayern’s worst Bundesliga defeat since 2019

Knauff took the opportunity to drive home the point (60th) and make the Rekordmeister experience his worst humiliation in the Bundesliga since 2019. In Frankfurt already. And to make matters worse, Bayern Munich may have lost Serge Gnabry for a while. Entering in the 66th minute, the winger was injured on his first ball after contact and left after only three minutes on the pitch. Despite a slightly more positive end to the match in the game, the reigning champion lost heavily 5-1 and let Bayer take a three-point lead at the top.

In the other matches of the afternoon, Union Berlin finally won a match. The capital club was on a series of 17 consecutive matches in all competitions without the slightest success. Red lantern at kick-off, the Berliners abandon this place in favor of Mainz with this 3-1 success against Gladbach, with a goal from the former Monegasque Volland. For its part, Heidenheim beat Darmstadt 3-2 and are giving themselves some breathing space. Finally, Freiburg wins at Wolsburg 1-0, just like Werder Bremen over Augsburg.

The results of the 3:30 p.m. matches:
