A bus of Brest supporters was stoned on the highway on Sunday, leaving Montpellier.

A month after the stone-throwing of several Lyon buses in Marseille – including that of OL players as they approached the Vélodrome – Brest supporters in turn were thrown stones and cobblestones while their bus, barely abandoned by the police escort left the Mosson stadium and was traveling on the highway leaving Montpellier.

When we look at the impacts on the vehicle, we quickly understand the violence of the events. If the stone thrown onto the front of the bus had been 2 meters lower, it was the driver who would have been hit and therefore a high risk of accident while the bus was launched on the highway. I don’t dare imagine the drama that could have resulted with our sixty supporters on board… We will consult with all the security forces present to better understand what happened », Said the general director of SB29 Pascal Robert, this Monday, after receiving some of the supporters concerned.

A slight injury

Of the 60 Brest residents present in the vehicle attacked from a bridge overlooking the expressway, one was lightly injured, hit by shards of glass. The carrier whose bus was targeted has announced its intention to file a complaint, reports France Bleu. A dispute dating from 2010 between the ultras of the two clubs – Brest and Montpellier – could be at the origin of this stonewalling according to L’Equipe.
