The French team made short work of Gibraltar during its penultimate outing in the Euro qualifiers (14-0).
While it already had its ticket for the Euro in its pocket, the France team made a point of achieving the best possible result against Gibraltar. For their penultimate match in their qualifications, the Blues even had the luxury of signing the biggest success in their history 14-0. Seven goals per half.
Only one black spot: Zaire-Emery’s injury
The 1995 record against Azerbaijan has therefore been erased. Were it not for the injury to Warren Zaire-Emery in the first quarter of an hour of the game for his first in Blue, the evening would have been perfect.
The PSG midfielder was hit in the ankle. But, before giving up his place, he had time to unlock his Blue counter. He allowed his team to lead 3-0, picking up a serve from Kingsley Coman without control. It was well worth a standing ovation from the Stade de France as he left the field.

Mbappé triple scorer
Obviously, WZE was not the only one to shake the nets in this meeting. There were even six French people who took care of their personal statistics during this game. Kylian Mbappé obviously was part of the party. The captain scored a hat-trick (30e75e and 82e) which allows him to be on the podium of the best directors in the history of the Blues. And he left the best for last, with a goal from 50 meters lobbing the goalkeeper.
In addition to Mbappé, Kingsley Coman has also scored more than once (36e and 66e). The Bayern striker confirmed his rise to prominence in the selection. His replacement Ousmane Dembélé was not unhappy either. Not very effective in the club, he rediscovered the joy of the goal by signing the 10e goal of his (73e).
Giroud punctuates the festival
Marcus Thuram (4e), Clauss (34), Fofana (37e) and Rabiot also participated in the offensive festival. Olivier Giroud, who entered the game, improved his record in selections. In the space of two minutes (89e and 90e), he planted two pawns to make the score 14-0. History will record that only Griezmann remained silent during the biggest tricolor card.
