The rag is burning between Real Madrid and La Liga.

The Spanish elite is experiencing turmoil this season. While Barça is mired in suspicions of arbitration corruption with the Negreira affair, Real Madrid is not spared, in the crosshairs of its own league and its omnipotent president Javier Tebas.

Saturday, as part of the general assembly of the White House, Florentino Perez, the boss of the Merengue club, indulged in some derogatory comments against La Liga, denouncing in particular the agreement to sell 10 % of LaLiga capital to the investment fund CVC Capital Partners.

“ The La Liga president abused his authority and hid the whole process from us while he adjusted terms with other clubssays the Madrid president. What I can confirm is that from today, we are spending more and more money, starting with the salary of the president of La Liga which has increased again. La Liga’s CVC operation is a scourge for Spanish football. »

Lies exposed

Obviously, Javier Tebas’ response was quick to come: “ I listened to Florentino Perez’s speech. Apart from the fact that he repeats the same thing year after year – which shows that neither he nor his management team know what is really going on – he tells serious lies about LaLiga. He lies about the president’s salary increase, there is none. He lies about the transparency of LaLiga, he lies about TV rights, he lies about everything! »

The dialogue is all the more complicated between Real Madrid and the Spanish Football League as Florentino Perez has recently taken great pleasure in unearthing the Superleague project, likely to one day compete with the UEFA Champions League. A project to which La Liga and Javier Tebas are formally opposed.
