The first evening of the third day of the Champions League saw all the favorites win. With more or less difficulty.
The logic was respected this Tuesday, during the 1e part of 3e lifting of the Champions League. The big guns who were out did honor to their status, even if most of them won through pain and on the smallest of gaps.
Manchester United thanks Onana
Traveling to Braga, Real Madrid, for example, struggled to secure 3 points. The Merengue led by two goals, including a new goal from Jude Bellingham, but they trembled towards the end after the opponent’s reduction. In the end, the success was narrow (2-1). Out in Berlin, Naples was not much more convincing. Rudi Garcia’s team won by the narrowest of margins against the local Union (1-0).

Manchester United also have a lot to do when they host Copenhagen (1-0). Forced to win after two defeats in a row, the Red Devils relied on unlikely heroes to ensure plenty of points. First there was Harry Maguire, scorer of the only goal of the match. And then there is André Onana, who deflected a penalty in the 95th. With this success, the Ten Hag gang can still hope to finish among the first two in their group, especially since Galatasaray lost on their lawn against Bayern (1-3).

Inter and Real Sociedad close to the 8th
MU was not the only English team to win this Saturday. This is also the case for Arsenal. The Gunners got back on track by winning in Seville (2-1). Gabriel Jesus was the hero of the match with a successful goal and assist. In the standings, the Londoners moved back ahead of Lens, who could do no better than a draw against PSV Eindhoven (1-1).
Note that in group D, Inter honored its status as European vice-champion by beating Salzburg (2-1). Alexis Sanchez scored one of the Nerazzurri’s two goals. In the other match, Real Sociedad also did a very good job by dominating Benfica at home (1-0). The Basques owe a debt of gratitude to Brais Mendez, scorer of the only goal of the match.
