Xabi Alonso has been cited as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor. Iberian media even assured this week that this commitment has been made and that the Basque technician would arrive at the Bernabeu at the end of the current season.
But the person concerned firmly denied this information: “It’s too early… It’s September. So it’s not a problem. Of course, I’m focused. We started the season well and I have to be the first to continue to stay focused.”
Alonso then insisted that this issue does not concern him or his players: “They know the world of football. It’s not a problem for any of them and we don’t talk about it.”
As a reminder, as a player, Xabi Alonso spent six years in Madrid, playing 289 matches in the process. He notably participated in winning a Spanish championship title (2012) and a Champions League (2014).
