EFL Cup: Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea ensure

There were no big surprises during the first meetings of the EFL Cup round of 16.

The big guys generally ensured in the 8:45 p.m. matches, in the round of 16 of the EFL Cup, the English League Cup. Opposed to Leicester, leader of the second division, Liverpool won (3-1) after conceding the opener, on a counter concluded by Kelsey McAteer (3rd). The Reds reacted well in the second half thanks to Cody Gakpo (48th), Dominik Szoboszlai (70th) and Diogo Jota (89th).

Arsenal, for their part, won against Brentford (0-1), with a goal from Reiss Nelson (8th), while Aston Villa was surprised by Everton (1-2), with goals from James Garner (15th) and Dominik Calvert-Lewis (50th), against a reduction in the gap signed by the Frenchman Boubacar Kamara (84th).

Finally, the most surprising result almost came from Chelsea, who beat a much more fit team, Brighton (1-0). The Blues, who had not yet scored in September, found the fault thanks to Nicolas Jackson (51st).
