After going more than two years without playing any official match, Benjamin Mendy is preparing to make his return to competition this weekend.
Almost two months ago, Benjamin Mendy signed for FC Lorient. Found not guilty of rape and attempted rape by the British courts, the left-back could make his comeback to competition on Sunday, on the occasion of the fifth day of Ligue 1 and the reception of Monaco by the Merlus.
RĂ©gis Le Bris should launch the French international into the deep end against the Principality club. “Benjamin is eight weeks and three days (of preparation), we are reaching a point where he is ready to apply. He has gone through the different stages of preparation. It is in good conditions. Will he be in the group this weekend? It’s possible. He is eligible. It can play left axis or left piston. We don’t know how long he can last, but he won’t start as a starter. We must build the progressiveness of its emergence in the group”confided the FCL coach this Friday at a press conference.
