Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund has revealed the reason he snubbed PSG in favor of Manchester United.
Rasmus Hojlund, the new Manchester United striker, has admitted to having received other offers than that from Old Trafford during the summer transfer window. He could have joined PSG, who wanted him in order to compensate for the many departures in attack.
Hojlund said no to Paris
The Dane left Atalanta for MU last month and made his debut on Sunday in the defeat against Arsenal (1-3) in the league. “There has been interest, but for me Manchester United has always been the first priority,” he told Tipsbladet.
However, he refused to comment on the exact course of the summer negotiations. And the reasons that led him to decline the Parisian offer. “I prefer to keep it to myself. But there was interest and the clubs started to negotiate, and I myself started talking to the club about what the contract should be.
Hojlund was transferred for an amount of 75M€. Quite a sum for a player who has only one season in a major European league. Paris did not see itself rising so high for the one who was only his 4e option as a leading striker behind Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani.
