OM has changed a lot

Marseille got the better of Brest this Saturday at the Vélodrome, as part of the 3rd day of L1 (2-0). A success signed with forceps.

The coach has changed, the squad and the style of play too… But that’s not all. By turning everything upside down again this summer, OM have also forged a new character. Not without success if we observe the match of the day won at the Vélodrome against Brest. A year ago, the SB29 came to win in this same stadium, being dominated, of course, but showing good things (1-2). This time the locals did indeed have the last word.

Yet the Bretons have shown beautiful arrangements and constructions, clearly not impressed by the warm atmosphere of the enclosure of the boulevard Michelet. Once again, Marcelino’s team willingly gave up possession of the ball to their opponent, but suffered cheerfully in the first act, suffering no less than 10 Brest attempts in this period alone.

The break, the Olympians nevertheless rallied with the advantage in the score, thanks to a victorious header from Mbemba at the start of the match, on the fall of a free kick from Veretout (1-0, 4e). The rest was mainly Breton, until the goal of the break signed Sarr in the wake of a twirling entry into play by Vitinha (2-0, 65e). Several times afterwards, through Aubameyang, Guendouzi – much applauded for his probable last appearance in Marseille – or Vitinha, OM missed the opportunity to worsen the score.

I’m disgusted, we made the match we had todixit Lees-Melou hot on the antenna of Prime Video. We take this entry goal which smashes all our plans, we made too many mistakes offensively, we were too nice and we paid cash. “Lopez, the Marseille porter admits it for his part:” We still have a lot of things to improve. We played well for 20 minutes and then we suffered. It was important to win for our supporters and not concede a goal, but we have to improve to do something this season. “All the same, these are three happy and welcome points at the finish for the Phocaeans who thus climb up to the level of the Monegasque leader, just ahead of Brest.
