Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler will soon have surgery on his right knee.
The decision was taken in the last few hours, after several meetings in which all the data and possibilities were analyzed. A process has now been opened to finalize all details of the transaction.
It is very likely that the surgeon in charge of the operation is the famous Manuel Leyes and that the operation will take place in Madrid. Leyes previously operated on Sergio Ramos in 2021, Marco Asensio in 2019 and Luka Modric in 2016.
Guler will be out for around a month and a half, but he is expected to be back after the international break.
Guler picked up the injury in training during Madrid’s pre-season tour of the United States and hasn’t been able to train with the first team since July 21. He hasn’t featured in any of his team’s four pre-season matches.
The Madrid club initially indicated that it was an overload problem, while The Athletic spoke of a knee problem.
When Guler had to leave the club’s pre-season tour and return to Madrid on Saturday to continue his treatment, Real issued a statement explaining that he suffered from a “medial meniscus injury in his right knee”.
