Algerian star Youcef Belaili still remains without a club. A situation for which she is partly responsible.
Most championships start in August. International level players find themselves in the starting blocks today, but there are also some exceptions. Some are unemployed and struggling to find a new base. This is particularly the case of Youcef Belaili.
Belaili spurned by an Egyptian giant
The Algerian winger has been without a club since the end of the past financial year and this end in blood sausage experienced with AC Ajaccio. Time is running out for the 2019 African champion but he doesn’t seem to be in a big rush to join a new team.
Lately, and if we believe information from the media Competition, Belaili was too demanding of one of his courtiers. The Egyptians of Zamalek were ready to sign him and relaunch his career, except that there was no financial agreement. His clan demanded emoluments (800,000 euros per year) which are not within the means of the people of Cairo. The latter have therefore meant to the Algerian starlet that it was out of the question to ruin herself to obtain her services.
Belaili will have to lower his salary expectations if he wants to play football again quickly. Thursday, there was talk of a meeting with the Algerian club MCA to see if there is a way to get along. Mouloudia have already brought in former international Djamel Benlamri and would like to strike another big blow. The outcome of this interview has not yet leaked.
Discarded from the Algerian selection on the occasion of the last rally, Belaili knows that his return to the Fennecs is conditioned on a rebound on the club scene. If he wants to participate next winter in his third consecutive CAN, he therefore has every interest in giving priority to the sporting side.
