Due to their poor financial situation, FC Barcelona will be forced to make significant sales of first-team players this summer, in order to be able to register all of their LaLiga players before the start of the season.
However, things are moving slowly so far, despite the presence of many players on the roster. Players like Clément Lenglet and Franck Kessié have attracted a lot of interest, but no buying club has yet lined up for the amount Barcelona want.
It’s not just the players on the transfer list who have been offered offers by FC Barcelona. According Footmercato, Al-Nassr has announced his intention to lift Ousmane Dembélé’s €50m release clause. However, the Saudi leaders failed to do so as the 26-year-old rejected their contract offer.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s side have submitted a proposal worth €200m (€40m over five seasons), but Dembele opted to stay at Barcelona, where he is in the final year of his contract.
It’s for this reason that Dembele’s release clause is very low and FC Barcelona hope to agree a new contract with the France international in the coming weeks.
