Negotiations for Victor Osimhen’s contract with Napoli are still at an impasse, which opens the door for PSG to sign the striker.
The former Lille man is still in negotiations with Napoli for a new contract, but no agreement has been reached, partly because of a disagreement over his release clause, reports the Corriere dello Sport.
While the Serie A champions want to increase his release clause to £173m, Osimhen would prefer it to be £100m.
Osimhen at odds with Napoli
The Nigeria international’s current lease expires in 2025 and rumors suggest that Napoli’s desire to block a higher release clause stems from a selling fee included in the club’s £70m deal to sign him from Lille. The French club are rumored to be entitled to a large sum if Osimhen is transferred this summer.
United and Chelsea and PSG are said to be interested in buying the striker, although chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has expressed confidence the prolific goalscorer will stay at the club.
