Manchester City: Ruben Dias warns competition

Breathtaking. This is how one could describe Manchester City’s 2022-2023 season. The Skyblues flew over the debates and offered themselves a historic hat-trick allowing them to assert themselves as the best team in the world. And despite the departure of Ilkay Gundogan and that to come of Riyad Mahrez, the flock of Pep Guardiola are not satisfied. Currently in Tokyo as part of the Mancunian club’s pre-season tour, Ruben Dias has expressed his desire to win again to Japanese journalists.

If you ask me, yes, we won the Champions League last season, but we went to the final in my first season. We could have easily won it too. The thing I want to talk about is that it’s not just last season. We do it before me, the club has been at this level for quite a while. I think for you to think that’s all I need to accomplish, you have to be narrow-minded or not very ambitious. It’s great, and if you look at what can be accomplished, it’s almost there. Even if I had everything, it’s still not done. I did it once, and I can always do it two, three or four times. I think for the kind of goal I’ve set for myself, the path I want to follow is not ‘oh yes, I won the Champions League, now I can just hang my boots and that’s it. I want to make sure my numbers will be good enough to be remembered for a while, if not forever. The competition is warned.
