FC Barcelona are yet to deliver the big sales they were promised this summer, but they may finally have a suitor able and willing to splash the big bucks.
Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez and Raphinha have all said the Brazilian will stay at the club next season and wants to build on the momentum of a new season which looks promising.
However, that resolve could well be tested by Manchester City. Santi Aouna reports that if Riyad Mahrez accepts an offer from Saudi Arabia, City will make Raphinha their main target to replace him.
Raphinha targeted by City
Raphinha scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists last season in 50 appearances. After a difficult start, where he lost his place to Ousmane Dembele, the former Rennais provided a number of goals and assists for FC Barcelona.
Nevertheless, Raphinha is expected to start next season on the sidelines with Dembele fully fit and ahead of him in the pecking order. FC Barcelona had planned to sell Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres, but with their finances tight, they might be tempted to change their minds and accept an offer if it arises.
