Former Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon has admitted to being approached by FC Barcelona while at Real Madrid.
The now-free creative midfielder has been outnumbered for most of the last four years of his spell at Los Blancos, and the Blaugrana were hoping to capitalize on that.
Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga and FC Barcelona were then interested in the playmaker. Impressive with Spain and Real Madrid, it seems Barcelona never stopped admiring him.
“Bartomeu called me and with what Bartomeu was paying at the time…” Isco told brand.
“But I was very happy in Madrid, with my teammates, with an incredible atmosphere in the dressing room… It was the team of my dreams, in which I had won what I dreamed of… I wasn’t leaving Madrid for all the gold in the world. The city is also wonderful. I was having so much fun in Madrid that I knew I wouldn’t be enjoying it anywhere else. »
Isco joined Sevilla FC at the end of his contract last summer, but left in December after tensions with sporting director Monchi. He is currently looking for a new club.
