Discharged from her position as national coach last March by the FFF, Corinne Deacon will watch the Bleues play in the 2023 World Cup with Hervé Renard at their head. The latter was acclaimed by the public.

After the psychodrama and the putsch led by Wendie Renard, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou at the end of February, Corinne Deacon was laid off at the beginning of March by the French Football Federation. A few weeks later, Hervé Renard was chosen to succeed the former coach of the France women’s football team. A strong choice a few months before a 2023 World Cup (July 20-August 20) from which the FFF expects a lot. The French public is confident in a Hervé Renard whom it largely acclaims.

Corinne Deacon is therefore well and truly forgotten, as confirmed by the survey carried out by Odoxa For Winamax And RTL on July 12 and 13 on a panel of 1,005 people representative of the French population, including 430 football fans. Asked about the appointment of Hervé Renard in place of Corinne Deacon, no less than 87% of respondents thought it was a good choice. Compared to the upcoming World Cup, the people questioned however have a slight doubt and estimated at 67% that this arrival validated on March 30 was “ too late“.

Displayed confidence

Still regarding the 2023 World Cup that Les Bleues are preparing to play on the Australian side, no less than 69% of French people think that their selection will reach at least the semi-finals. Football fans are almost of the same opinion, at 65%. As for a final victory and a first world title, the respondents are still 28% to believe it. It now remains to follow the course of the daughters of Hervé Renard whose first group match is scheduled for July 23 against Jamaica (12:00 p.m.).
