At the end of the contract at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Marcus Thuram has decided to take a step forward in his career. The French striker will join a more ambitious team like Paris Saint-Germain. But for the club of the capital, the file turns out to be more complicated than expected.

Pending the announced signing of right winger Marco Asensio, Paris Saint-Germain want to further strengthen their attacking sector. The center forward position is one of the priorities of Luis Campos who works in particular on the Marcus Thuram track. A great deal in perspective since the 25-year-old striker has decided to leave Borussia Mönchengladbach at the end of his contract this summer.

A new competitor for PSG

The capital club has already sent him an interesting offer, namely a 5-year lease with an annual salary of 6 million euros. Unsurprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain’s proposal, financially, exceeds that of AC Milan. Italian journalist Nicolo Schira understands that the Rossoneri only offer him 4.5 million euros a year, not including various bonuses. To make up for the difference, the Serie A resident is trying to convince Marcus Thuram with an important place in the squad.

Paris Saint-Germain must therefore remain suspicious, especially since the French international, currently in selection, rubs shoulders with the Milanese Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud who will inevitably try to attract him. But that’s not all. The French champion will also have to keep an eye on RB Leipzig. Media outlet Sky Germany claim that the German club are getting involved in the fight for Thuram’s son.

A priori, the former Guingampais represents a plan B, the formation of the Bundesliga being for the moment focused on Loïs Openda. Remember that the Belgian striker wants to join Leipzig, whose offers of 30 and 32 million euros were refused by Lens. The Sang et Or would claim 45 million euros for their striker. An amount that may encourage Leipzig to set its sights on Marcus Thuram.
