Bayern hang on despite an anthology goal

Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen neutralized each other (1-1) during this Saturday’s TopSpiel in the Bundesliga.

Aleksandar Pavlovic may have already scored the goal of the season in the Bundesliga. Unfortunately for Bayern Munich, the jewel of its midfielder did not allow it to do better than a draw (1-1) at home against Bayer Leverkusen, reigning champion. The Bavarians still performed correctly since they kept Bayer at three points and retained the lead in the standings.

Before Pavlovic’s firecracker to equalize (39th), it was Xabi Alonso’s men who struck first at the Allianz Arena, thanks to a heavy low strike from Robert Andrich (31st). Dayot Upamecano and Michael Olise, Bayern’s two French internationals, started at kick-off. Ditto for Martin Terrier, the former Lille, Lyonnais and Rennais player, present from the start with Leverkusen.
