FC Barcelona have been fined €10,000 and banned from selling tickets to visiting fans for their upcoming Champions League away match against Serbian side Red Star in November. Some of the FC Barcelona supporters displayed a banner during the defeat against Monaco last week on which was written “Flick heil”, a banner with Nazi connotations.
This sanction was imposed by UEFA because FC Barcelona was already suspended with a suspended sentence for the racist behavior of its supporters during the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in April. The club was accused of racist behavior, causing damage and setting off fireworks inside the Parc des Princes, leading to a fine of €32,000 and a suspended ban from sell tickets outside.
